Ibiza

Just come as you are

Ibiza has become my second home. It definitely wasn’t love at first sight when I stepped foot on the island during my senior trip in 2009. For some reason (probably cheap flights and epic DJs playing), I came back with a friend the following year, and the year after that. The budget hotels we stayed at were overpriced and not very nice.

But the more I explored the island, the more I started to feel something was special about this place. It had a vibe – and sunsets – I hadn’t experienced anywhere else. One summer, my family rented a small place in Sant Josep. And again the following year. My Mom quickly started seeing what I see and – lucky for me – decided to buy a property we now get to call home.

I find Ibiza one of the hardest destinations to describe. A place where homeless-looking-hippies meet plastic-surgery-high-society. A place where the realest and most meaningful experiences are only a few kilometers away from the absurdly decadent and superficial.

There are very few places in Europe filled with so much contrast whilst maintaining peace and happiness. And what I love most about it? You can just come as you are and the island will accept you without question – as long as you’re willing to pay 10 EUR for a glass of water in the club.

“I love that the island has two parts to offer. On the one hand, being able to enjoy a party with friends and going out to dinners. On the other hand, seeing the world’s best sunsets and being in contact with nature. I feel that Ibiza is a paradise-like place where I can combine everything with my work. My favorite spot to party is at Ushuaia!”
