The city I feel most at home in.

When I moved to London – aged 19 – I was heartbroken. I didn’t know anyone and the gray skies didn’t help either. But a year into living here, I shifted my attitude and started saying yes to new people and experiences. London forced me to leave my comfort zone so many times. By the time I left, it was the city I felt most comfortable in – and I was heartbroken to leave.

Until this day, London is my happy place. There’s something about being one of 9.5 million people surrounded by cultural diversity and endless inspiration. My family and friends sometimes complain that London is dirty and too hectic. For those of you that know me, you know I enjoy a fast-paced lifestyle. So put on your sneakers, shift into a higher gear, and come explore my favorite city with me.

Like a Local

“London living is all about diversity for me. From the people you see, the culture, the food and arts scenes. London is an evolving melting pot which I’m in love with.

Being a Bermondsey resident, my top spot is Borough Market on a Saturday morning. Head to Richard Hayward’s for the best oysters in town. Don’t miss Maria’s Market Cafe for a Sunday hangover English fry up, and you’ll want to stop off at Juma Kitchen for Iraqi kubba and knafa.”

Sustainability Tip

My heart beats for sustainable hotels. I absolutely loved staying at The Good Hotel at the Royal Victoria Dock. The bedrooms are decorated with natural and repurposed materials. And the best part about staying here? 100% of the hotel’s profits go towards projects that help others in need.
